You and your child's safety is very important to us at BGP. We want to provide the safest environment possible for your child to learn and grow.

For the safety of the children, families and staff, ALL visitors must be buzzed in at the front entrance. ALL visitors, including but not limited to parents, volunteers, therapist and vendors must sign in and out upon entering. Please be sure you and your family members sign in and out each time you visit. That way we can have an accurate record of individuals inside the building in the event of an emergency, (Fire, weather related emergencies, etc.) The building, surrounding grounds, and entry/exit doors are monitored by a video surveillance system.

If someone else on your child’s release comes to pick up your child or gets him/her off the bus, they must be over 18 years of age and must show a photo I.D. No one will be allowed to pick up your child at the center or get your child off the bus if they are not on the release.

We limit calls and interruptions to classroom staff during school hours. Classroom staff must ensure the children are in their scope of vision and voice range at all times. Your child’s teacher is available to speak with you in the mornings before children arrive and in the afternoons after buses depart. Arrangements can be made to meet with a teacher  during the school day, if additional staff are available to replace that teacher. The appropriate adult/child ratio must be net at all times. That means a teacher cannot leave the classroom without having another staff person replacing them. The Family Service Coordinators are available throughout the day for any questions or concerns you may have.

Each classroom is equipped with a medical supply bag that is taken with them every time they leave the classroom. (to gym, playground and on field trips, etc.) Each bus is also equipped with medical supplies. Classroom staff, transportation staff along with many support staff are trained and certified in CPR/AED and First Aid. There are AED’s located on the first and second floors of the center and fire extinguishers on every floor of the building and on each bus.

Emergency Preparedness Drills are conducted periodically such as fire drills, tornado drills and earthquake drills. Emergency evacuations are practiced on buses. In each classroom, bus, office and common area there are Emergency Procedures posted.
