Parent Involvement and Volunteering

Head Start and Early Head Start realizes that YOU, the parents and guardians, are the most important influence and teacher in your child's life. You are your child's role model. We want to build on your family strengths and support you in your challenge of raising a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted child. Some opportunities we want to share with you during this school year are included below:
  • Classroom Volunteer
  • Landscaping/Mowing
  • Wash/Clean Buses
  • Laundry
  • Read to children
  • Do art activities with children
  • Kitchen Volunteer
  • Janitorial duties
  • Crossing Guard volunteer
Parent/guardian and community volunteers are encouraged to participate [Dads, this means you, too]. All regular volunteers MUST have a current TB Screening and a current Criminal Records check. This does not include visitors. All jobs are treated as a learning experience and career development. All volunteer work can be used on a resume as unpaid experience and can be used as a reference, based upon performance. If you would like to volunteer anywhere in the Center, see your Family Services Coordinator to begin the job placement process. Please volunteer, we need you!
